What forms of payment do you accept?
All of our invoices are processed securely through Square. We accept all major credit cards, cash, or checks made payable to Crafted Around You.
Can you see and/or leave reviews of your services?
Will we get featured on social media or your blog?
You may! We always like to highlight our weddings to help our couples through the planning process, understand our services, and potentially get some wedding inspo!
What is your payment structure?
Most of our packages require a 50% non-refundable deposit with the remaining balance due 1 week prior to the wedding date. If you would like to discuss a different structure please let us know and we will try our best to accommodate your needs!
If I need to cancel due to COVID-19, is the deposit refundable?

Yay! Currently checking our calendar to see if we’re available. We will respond to you within 24 hours during the week. Weekend inquiries will be responded to by Monday morning! If we have your date we would love to set up a zoom/in person meeting to chat more about your vision and how we can best craft a package around you!
What planning services do you offer?
We offer full service planning, wedding day management, and hourly consultations. Not sure which is the right fit? If you want someone to help through the whole planning process, start to finish then full service is the way to go. Wedding day management may be familiar to you as “day-of-coordination”. The term day-of-coordination misleads couples that it is simply a one day interaction. The process actually begins about 6 months prior and really picks up 1 month prior to your day. We need to walk into set up with a clear understanding of your vision. Wedding day management is thought of as the boxes to beauty package. You plan the day and we execute the vision. Lastly hourly consultations are the go to for expert advice along the way. Whenever you need to chat we’re there!
How did you become a wedding planner?
I , Eliza, started in the nonprofit sector. My planning spanned from large galas for 400 people with a million moving pieces to small gatherings and cocktail hours for 20 people. Then I moved into a Director role of concert operations for arena concerts of 3,000 people (not exactly my forte). Finally I ended up in weddings after starting as a wedding photographer. I saw things I wanted done differently. Wedding days can’t be redone, I want the couple's dream wedding to go off without a hitch. I combined all of my previous experience into a beautiful planning process and here we are!
Do you have a list of preferred vendors to use?
Yes! - We have great relationships with a variety of vendors. All full service planning clients receive discounts with our preferred list of vendors although we can always provide recommendations!
Honestly, I want to be a part of planning my wedding. Is that possible if I hire you as my planner?
Absolutely - The planning process should be just as enjoyable as the day. Every couple I work with is different. Some want a hands off approach where they show up to the finished day while others want to come along for the journey. I will interact with you as much or as little as you want.
I’ve looked at a million planners, how are you different from the rest?
Weddings are our passion. No seriously, we love weddings. We are more than wedding planners. Our team has the photography and design background making the perfect combination for the perfectly crafted day. We consider where your ceremony should be for lighting for your photographer or what graphic design elements will pull your theme together.
Will we be working directly with you?
Of course! - I love working one on one with each of my couples in collaboration with our team who will help on the day of. We can’t wait to meet you in your initial consultation.
Can I afford a wedding planner?
Budget is a very real consideration and the question I like to start with is, can I afford not to? A wedding planner should ultimately save you time and money. We have a unique relationship already established with many vendors. We’ve seen the vendors at work and we’ve selected a carefully crafted list of the best in the industry. We know their pricing structure and we have many discounts across the board. Our goal to match you with the perfect vendors based on your budget, vision, and personality! Our venue has an in-house coordinator. Do I still need a wedding planner?
Many of the venues that we work with have a venue coordinator. This is always a great sign as they know the ins and outs of the space and work with us to ensure the day runs smoothly. Although they sound similar, venue coordinators and full coordinators have very different roles. The venue coordinator works for the venue to accomplish their vision while the full coordinator works for the bride solely. They may coordinate the in house catering, set up of tables, chairs, basic decor, and when a vendor may arrive to set up the space. The full coordinator works to ensure other vendors such as the photographer, videographer, special rentals, hair stylists, make-up artist, florists, etc. arrive on the right schedule and work through any issues they may have. We see each of our weddings through until the very end when the very last guest leaves and cleanup is complete.
I’ve decided I want to do the planning myself but I might come across a challenge and will need advice, can you help?
Sure! - I obviously want to plan your entire dream wedding but if that’s not in the cards I’d love to still support you through the process. I offer hourly consultations via phone, zoom, or in person if you just need to call in the bridal backup at a moment's notice.
How early should I plan out my print pieces?
Generally, you want to send your Save the Dates about 6 to 9 months out. So with that in mind, it’s probably time to start thinking about them as early as 12 months out. This is best to plan out with your designer, to talk through design turnaround, printing, mailing, ect.
Do I choose from stock or templated designs?
Nope! As part of our business name and philosophy, we believe that each design piece should be crafted around you. Cathy will ask leading questions and show design inspiration to ensure your design piece is truly like no other.
What should be on my invitation?
As we put together your information for your invitation, we want to make sure we are answering the 3 W’s: Who, When, and Where. And then double and triple check spelling, of course! ;)
What is the design process like?
Generally, we will meet and go over your wedding theme, colors, and your style and determine a design direction to go in. Once that is decided, Cathy will create a draft design for you to review. During this review process, we will discuss color, fonts, and general direction. Once that is discussed, Cathy will create a second draft for minor changes. Once the design is finalized, Cathy will provide the design file in any format needed for printing.
What is the print process like?
Once the design is finalized, Cathy will provide the design file in any format needed for printing. Cathy will recommend both local and online print shops to order from and will assist in the ordering process as needed, though design prints are not directly ordered through Crafted Around You.
When should I book my engagement photos?
First get an idea of what feel you want them to have. Maybe you want gorgeous fall photos, cozy winter photos, or a romantic beach stroll. Also consider when you want to send your Save the Dates. These are all important factors to consider. Once you’ve determined your timeline let us know! Engagement photos are typically delivered within 3 weeks or sooner of the shoot.
Can you shoot my engagements and design my Save the Dates?
Absolutely! Head over to our design page to chat with Cathy about a custom package that includes both.
What is the delivery method?
Each photoshoot is delivered through an online gallery. There you can like, download, print, and share your gallery. We recommend that you download your full gallery on a computer or hard drive within 3 months of receipt as galleries are not guaranteed after 4 months.
I think having my picture taken is awkward, help!
We hear this more often than you think. It’s okay, we first start with getting to know you. Want to grab a coffee before photos? Let’s go! We take our time with each session to make sure it feels casual and not stressed. We have some awesome tricks to help you break into the natural smile, as well!
Can we order prints?
Yes! Through our online gallery you can order prints, canvases, photo books, and more!
Are all the photos edited?
Every photo in your gallery is edited and delivered in high-res or web sized formats. We also provide black and white edits with a color copy. If you would like special blemish removal, that is available at an hourly cost.
How many photos can I expect to receive?
Depends on how much time we spend together! Our one hour sessions generally include 30-60 images - so if you’re doing the math, weddings can have upwards of 500 photos! We don’t hold back while shooting, we want to make sure we fully capture your memories.
When can we expect the images to be delivered??
Depends on the shoot! Family sessions usually take about 2 -3 weeks, weddings take from 1 - 2 months.
Can we see full galleries of sessions or weddings you have photographed recently?
Absolutely! Reach out and we will send you a link :)
Do we own the copyright to the images you take?
Copyright and print release are often confused. Copyrights are solely for the photographer who captured the photo although you do receive a print release, that’s all you need! When you receive your gallery you can fully download, print, and share your photos from there.
Will you post preview images to social media right after our time together?
We do like to highlight our clients on our social media. We also know you are excited to share these memories on your social media so we always try to get you 1-2 photos as a sneak peak!
Do you provide the RAW files from my engagement session and/or wedding day?
Great question! Crafted Around You carefully edits each shot and delivers a fully finished image. RAW files are solely for the photographer and are not provided to the client.
